Joe Robertson, who has built more than 50 bars in Newcastle, Leeds, Cardiff and London, also conceived a number of exceptional concepts during the 80′s and 90′s. Each unit had its own conceptual approach and market segment.
During 1985 Joe Robertson acquired the freehold of Post Office Chambers on St Nicholas Street and purchased the Post Office Inn on the ground floor from Dryborough Brewery of Scotland.
The premises were substantially refurbished and extended to create the highly successful Masters Bar.
Other public houses developed in this period included Berlins Cocktail Bar Newcastle and Sloanes Wine Bar in Jesmond together with Legends Bar on Grey Street and Yell Bar in the Cloth Market Newcastle.
